GRAPHIC NOVEL AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR, KEVIN PYLE, PRESENTED WORKSHOPS FOR ALL 5TH AND 6TH GRADERS ON MARCH 15 & 16, DEMONSTRATING THE TECHNIQUES OF CREATING COMICS BY USE OF FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, SPEECH BALLOONS & ENEMATA. STUDENTS RECEIVED A LESSON IN DRAWING AND CREATED A COMIC STRIP USING THEIR NEW TALENTS.
On March 10, several 5th grade classes enjoyed a live-streamed production: WOMEN OF THE REVOLUTION, an Electronic Field Trip from Colonial Williamsburg. The trips are interactive lessons, allowing students to formulate questions and speak to historical experts via telephone. Several of our students were able to pose their questions to the experts on a live television show!
