Dear Parents/Guardians:

As a parent/guardian, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child. Federal law, particularly in regard to Title I funding, allows you to ask for certain information about your child's classroom teachers, and requires us to give you this information in a timely manner if you ask for it.

Specifically, you have the right to ask for the following information about each of your child's classroom teachers:

• Whether the NJ Department of Education has licensed or qualified the teacher for the grades and subjects he or she teaches.

• Whether the NJ Department of Education has decided that the teacher can teach in a classroom without being licensed or qualified under state regulations because of special circumstances.

• The teacher's college major; whether the teacher has any advanced

degrees and, if so, the subject of the degrees.

• Whether any teachers' aides or similar paraprofessionals provide

services to your child and, if they do, their qualifications.

If you would like to receive any of this information, please contact the Office of the School Business Administrator at 908-769-6050 to obtain a copy of the district's public record request form.

Estimados Padres/Guardianes:

Como padre/guardián, ustedes tienen el derecho de saber las calificaciones de los maestros de clase que instruyen a su hijo. La ley federal, particularmente con respecto al Título 1 de fondos, permite que ustedes pidan cierta información acerca de los maestros de clase de su hijo, y requiere que les demos esa información de una manera pronta, si lo han pedido.

Específicamente, ustedes tienen el derecho de pedir la siguiente información acerca de cada uno de los maestros de clase de su hijo:

· Si el Departamento de Nueva Jersey ha licenciado o calificado al maestro para los grados y materias que él o ella enseña.

· Si el Departamento de Educación de Nueva Jersey ha decidido que el maestro puede enseñar en la clase sin tener licencia o calificaciones bajo las regulaciones del estado a causa de circunstancias especiales.

· La especialización del maestro; si el maestro tiene títulos avanzados y, si es así, la materia de los títulos.

· Si cualquier ayudante de maestros, o paraprofesionales similares dan servicio a su hijo y, si es así, sus calificaciones.
