HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER PUBLISHES ANOTHER POEM:  John DeLaurentis, a teacher of English at North Plainfield High School, recently participated in a poetry launch party for the literary journal, Killing the Angel. The event was for the launch of Issue 3 of the journal, which features Mr. DeLaurentis’ poem, “Helen of Troy.” Mr. DeLaurentis’ poem explores the character of Helen from the Greek mythological text The Odyssey by Homer. Mr. DeLaurentis read this poem at the event, which took place at the Hidden Grounds Coffee Shop in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 21, 2014. He also read another poem about a childhood memory, "Blacktop Innocence," from his second poetry book, Palimpsest, currently being submitted to publishers. DeLaurentis’ reading can be viewed on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI1VuZEbQ2I&feature=youtu.be.
