Principal's Message

November 2015

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

We had a fantastic opening of the school year.  Our sports teams played hard and had successful seasons.  Our students are working equally as hard in the classroom.  We currently have  students taking 143 concurrent enrollment college courses.  The partnership we have with Raritan Valley Community College allows our students to earn college credits for courses they take at North Plainfield High School.

I wish to thank all of the parents and students that collaborated with our faculty on identifying the core values that we would like for all our students to possess.  These values, Caring, Appreciation, Respect and Determination (CARD) are being reinforced by our clubs, organizations and classroom activities.

I also wish to thank everyone for participating in our school climate survey.  Your input assists the school in determining policy and procedures.  The information is also used to identify areas we can improve as well as areas of success.

We are proud to announce that many students earned honor roll at the conclusion of the marking period.  I would like to congratulate these students for their academic success.  If you or your child was not as academically successful as you would like, please reach out to his or her teachers.  The teachers will provide you with detailed information regarding grades and will be able to make a tutoring recommendation.  The school offers tutoring services from the National Honor Society and faculty members.

I look forward to seeing everyone during the winter months.  Please visit the school calendar to see when social and sporting events are taking place.

Jerard W. Stephenson, Ed.D.
