The fourth grade Gifted and Talented Inspiration class visited the Thomas Edison National Historic Park on December 1st. During the visit the students were led through the library, machine shops, office, and chemistry lab of this great inventor. As a follow up activity, the students had the opportunity to engage in a design challenge of their own. Groups were given a set of building materials and an assignment that filled a need. Each set of students quickly completed their task and soon we had a playground, mousetrap, amusement park ride, and robot under construction.
