District Core Values
North Plainfield High School recognizes the diversity within our learning community and respects the individuality of each student. We are committed to providing twenty-first century technology, fostering intellectual development, establishing self-esteem, and encouraging personal responsibility. We realize the need for all students to become independent, lifelong learners prepared to successfully meet the demands of a changing world
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students;
The summer is quickly coming to an end and a new school year is upon us. The building has been cleaned, offices and classrooms have been painted, and new staff have been hired. The summer has allowed all of us to recharge our batteries and get ready for a new year.
As many of you are aware, Ms. Jackie Fields has been appointed as the Director of School Counseling. Mr. Torres will rejoin the high school administration where he will serve as the Assistant Principal. We welcome them to their new positions and know they will continue to do an excellent job.
This summer all high school students are reading Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell. Students are to use the "Notice and Note" annotation system they learned in their Language Arts classes to develop a study guide. Additional reading and math assignments for students taking specific courses can be found on our website.
As the year begins, questions will inevitably arise. The students are given a handbook that contains the rules, regulations, and procedures of the high school. Having a working knowledge of the contents of the handbook will help answer questions as they arise and point you towards clubs and organizations which may be of interest. It is important that all forms and contact information are updated. This is to be done using the Genesis Parent Portal.
Parents, you are a key component in a successful school year. We ask for your help in assuring that students follow the rules and regulations. We ask you to reinforce that attendance is an extremely important part of a student's progress, both academically and socially.
We will work together this year to reach the high expectations we have set for one another. We will work together to overcome obstacles that may hamper our success. We will work together to make our dreams a reality. I am looking forward to a fantastic year and a successful future.
